Our Apprentices at Saving Energy

We are very passionate about providing young people with an opportunity to create a successful career path. That’s why at Saving Energy we have taken on apprentices in the local area and delivered relevant training to progress within the workplace whilst gaining qualifications at the same time.

We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce to you four of our employees in our North East branch: Beth, Carly, Liam and Ian.

Beth and Carly are currently completing their NVQ level 2 Business Administration Diploma, with Beth finishing the course this month. As part of Beth’s role her duties and responsibilities include day to day administration tasks from dealing with maintenance reports right through to administering FIT applications for commercial units. Carly is currently performing and qualifying land registries as well as appointment setting for solar surveys and installations.

Liam is well on his way with completing his btec Level 2 and 3 in design and electrical theory. Liam’s role is complex with his daily activities ranging from delivering solar access reports to designing intricate installs for both domestic and commercial.

Ian, who is our oldest apprentice, joined Saving Energy a couple of years ago and decided he wanted to further progress his career by undertaking an apprenticeship course which he started in January. As part of his warehousing level 2 apprentice course, Ian is responsible for ensuring stock levels are maintained, kitting the workforce, arranging vehicle maintenance and organising deliveries. Ian has just successfully completed 2 weeks work experience within the Essex branch.

Our apprentices all agreed that one of the main benefits that attracted them to doing an apprenticeship scheme was the opportunity to learn on the job whilst gaining a qualification. As part of the courses they are doing with Ashington College, the apprentices have to complete a range of units gathering supporting evidence for each one.

It’s been great to hear that our apprentices have long term plans to stay with the company and they feel that they have built great team relationships that everyone within the company is willing to help each other. Liam even has ambitions to be Saving Energy’s Design Manager with his own domestic and commercial team and we are looking forward to seeing that happen!

We are always keen to employ apprentices that want to excel within the industry that we operate. If you are ready for the challenge, keep your eyes peeled for when we next post our openings.
